Quick answer

Oura vs Galaxy Ring is mostly about your phone and how you pay. Oura works with iPhone and Android and needs a membership for most readings. Galaxy Ring has no subscription but is built for Android, especially Samsung phones. Sisly is a titanium ring or band at AED 999, paid once, with readings hosted in the UAE.

Key takeaways

  • Oura works with iOS and Android and sells a membership for most readings; Galaxy Ring has no subscription and works with Android phones only, with some features on Samsung phones alone.
  • All three are titanium rings with no screen; Sisly also comes as a band.
  • Galaxy Ring lists up to 7 days per charge, Oura Ring 5 lists 6 to 9 days, and Sisly lists about 7 days.
  • Over three years, Galaxy Ring and Sisly cost only their purchase price; Oura adds a membership on top.
  • If you use an iPhone, the choice is between Oura and Sisly; Galaxy Ring does not list iPhone support.

Oura vs Galaxy Ring vs Sisly: how do they compare at a glance?

Three titanium smart rings, three ways to pay. Oura sells a ring and a membership. Samsung sells the Galaxy Ring once, with no subscription. Sisly is AED 999, paid once, and comes as a ring or a band.

The table carries the UAE prices we checked, what you pay after you buy, battery, where readings are kept and app languages. Every figure comes from one data file with the date it was checked.

Prices checked in September 2026 from public UAE listings and makers’ sites. Prices and features change, so check each brand before you buy.

What is the difference between Oura and Galaxy Ring?

The first difference is your phone. Oura supports iPhones running iOS 16 or later and Android phones running Android 11 or later. Samsung’s UAE store lists Galaxy Ring support for Samsung Galaxy phones and other Android phones on Android 11 or later. iPhone is not listed. Some Galaxy Ring features, including Double Pinch and Find My Ring, work only with Samsung phones.

The second difference is how you pay. Oura’s support pages say that, without a membership, the app shows three daily scores for Readiness, Activity and Sleep, plus battery, settings and some reading content. Detailed sleep, heart rate, stress and health reports need a membership, sold monthly or yearly in the UAE. Samsung said at the Galaxy Ring’s launch in July 2024 that all its data and insights sit in Samsung Health without a subscription.

The third difference is the app around the ring. Oura has its own app. Galaxy Ring lives inside Samsung Health, next to a Galaxy Watch if you have one.

What does each ring do best?

Oura Ring

Oura has sold several generations of its ring, from Gen3 to Oura Ring 4 and now Oura Ring 5, announced on 28 May 2026. Gulf News reported that UAE pre-orders opened on 1 June 2026. Oura says Oura Ring 5 is 40 per cent smaller than Oura Ring 4.

With a membership, Oura Ring 5 offers sleep analysis, heart rate through the day, temperature trends, blood oxygen, stress, cardiovascular metrics and women’s health insights. It connects to other apps, including Strava. The Oura app is available in 21 languages, Arabic among them.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

Galaxy Ring suits people who already live in Samsung’s world. It is made of Grade 5 titanium, weighs 2.3 to 3.0 grams by size, and comes in Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold, according to Samsung.

Samsung describes sleep analysis with a Sleep Score, snoring analysis, movement during sleep, sleep latency, and heart and respiratory rate. Galaxy AI adds an Energy Score based on the previous day’s sleep, heart rate and activity, which needs a compatible Galaxy phone. Cycle tracking uses overnight skin temperature. The charging case has lights that show how far the ring has charged.

Galaxy Ring launched in the UAE in October 2024. It has no subscription, which is its clearest advantage over Oura.

Sisly

Sisly is a titanium ring or band. It reads sleep, energy, stress, heart rate variability, activity and skin temperature, each against your own normal. The price is AED 999, paid once, with no membership.

Heart rate variability, or HRV, is “the fluctuation in the time intervals between adjacent heartbeats”, in the words of a 2017 review in Frontiers in Public Health. Sisly reads your HRV against your own normal rather than an average of strangers.

Your readings are hosted in the UAE, and the app is in Arabic and English. Sisly is available to pre-book in three finishes named after oases: Ain in silver, Hasa in black and Liwa in gold. Sisly is not a medical device.

What is the best smart ring in the UAE for your phone?

This is the question that settles most choices, so it gets its own answer.

  1. You use an iPhone. Oura and Sisly are your options here. Galaxy Ring does not list iPhone support.
  2. You use a Samsung Galaxy phone. All three are open to you. Galaxy Ring gives you the most, including Energy Score, Double Pinch and Find My Ring.
  3. You use another Android phone. Oura and Sisly work as usual. Galaxy Ring pairs, but some features stay Samsung only.
  4. You change phones often. A ring tied to one maker’s phones is harder to keep when you switch.

For a wider view across every ring sold here, our guide to the best smart rings in the UAE compares them all.

How much do Oura, Galaxy Ring and Sisly cost over three years?

A ring is worn for years, so three years is the fairer window. These sums use the prices in the table above.

Oura Ring:

  1. The ring, at the UAE list price for your finish.
  2. The first month of membership, included.
  3. A membership for the rest of the three years, monthly or yearly.

At the yearly rate, three years of membership add roughly half the base ring’s list price again. The total is more than twice Sisly’s price.

Samsung Galaxy Ring:

  1. The ring, at the UAE list price.
  2. Nothing after that. The three-year cost is the ring’s price.

Sisly:

  1. The ring or band, AED 999.
  2. Nothing after that. The three-year cost is AED 999.

Galaxy Ring and Sisly are both one payment. At the prices in the table, Sisly is the lower of the two. The smart ring prices in the UAE page keeps these numbers current, and smart rings without a subscription lists every ring with nothing to renew.

Do smart rings cope with Gulf heat and water?

Heat and water are daily questions here. Oura lists an operating range of minus 10 to 54 degrees Celsius for Oura Ring 5, and water resistance to 100 metres, suitable for sauna and swimming but not diving. Samsung lists 10ATM and IP68 for Galaxy Ring.

A ring comes off rarely, which is part of the point. When it does come off on a summer day, somewhere indoors is a safer place for it than a parked car.

If the heat keeps you awake, our piece on sleeping through a Gulf summer looks at what helps, and what a ring can and cannot tell you.

What does each ring read?

All three read sleep, heart rate variability, activity and skin temperature in some form. The differences are in the extras, and in what needs a membership. This list uses each maker’s own description.

A longer list is not the same as a better fit. If you mostly want to know how you slept and how your body is carrying the week, all three cover that. Sisly is not a medical device, and no ring replaces a doctor for any reading that worries you.

What should you check before you buy in the UAE?

A few practical checks save a return later.

  1. Size. Rings are sized differently by each maker. Oura notes that Oura Ring 5 sizing differs from Oura Ring 4. Samsung’s UAE store shows which Galaxy Ring sizes are in stock for each colour. Use each maker’s sizing kit or guide.
  2. Phone. Check the phone rules above against the phone you will have next year, not only this one.
  3. Where you buy. Galaxy Ring is sold through Samsung’s UAE store and retailers across the UAE. Oura sells through its own site and UAE retailers. Sisly is available to pre-book on this site.
  4. After year one. For Oura, note the membership renewal price and date. For Galaxy Ring and Sisly, there is nothing to renew.

Where is your data kept?

For Oura and for Samsung, see the provider’s privacy policy; each company sets out there how and where it handles your data.

Sisly readings are hosted in the UAE. If keeping your readings close matters to you, our piece on why nobody should see your team’s health data sets out how we think about it.

Questions, answered

Does the Samsung Galaxy Ring work with an iPhone?
No. Samsung's UAE store lists support for Samsung Galaxy phones and other Android phones running Android 11 or later, and iPhone is not on the list. Some features, such as Double Pinch and Find My Ring, work only with Samsung phones. If you use an iPhone, Oura and Sisly are the rings in this comparison that will pair with it.
Does the Galaxy Ring need a subscription?
No. When Samsung announced the Galaxy Ring in July 2024, it said all data and insights sit in Samsung Health without a subscription. You pay for the ring once. Some features, such as the Energy Score, need a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone with Galaxy AI, so what you see can depend on the phone you pair it with.
Is Oura better than Galaxy Ring?
Neither is better for everyone. Oura has the longer software history, works with iPhone and Android, and offers more readings with a membership. Galaxy Ring costs nothing after purchase and fits closely with Samsung phones and Samsung Health. Your phone and how you want to pay usually decide it before any feature list does.
Which smart ring has the longest battery in the UAE?
By the makers' figures, Oura Ring 5 typically lasts 6 to 9 days per charge. Samsung says Galaxy Ring lasts up to 7 days, with smaller sizes nearer 6, and its charging case holds enough for a second week away from a socket. Sisly lists about 7 days between charges. Real battery life varies with size and use.
